
Custom characters do have one of the more useful source abilities (dome of protection) though. You can still play the origin characters however you want, you just have more options when you play as one.


You'll still experience their quest when you have them as a party member, but you have some unique story moments you'll only experience when you play as them. Each origin character has their own questline and dialogue options unique to them.

You're not missing too much by making a custom character.
